Navratri is one of the most auspicious times in Indian culture. Prayers, rituals and traditions mark this joyous occasion. Another major aspect and attraction of this festival is “Dandiya”, a dance form that reflects the joie de vivre of Indian citizens, whether living in India or any part of the world. Dandiya Night is the highpoint of this festival.

Career Point University organized a Dandiya Night on 6th Sept, 2016 i.e. Thursday night where a gathering of almost 300 people accumulated including the university students, faculties and other natives from the city who performed dandiya dance will full of zeal and enthusiasm. It was a night and event filled with colors of joy and happiness among all the glittering faces in dandiya costumes.

The event started with an Aarti and poojan performed by the Dean Academics, Mr Kamal Arora & Dean Agriculture, Mr S.S. Tomar respectively. After which everyone got engaged with the flow of dandiya beats on the floor. Before ending the ceremony, various titles for a couple of categories were awarded to the deserving persons among all those who participated in the event where Ms Shalu from MBA 1st yr was awarded with both the titles of “Best Dress Female” and “Best Dancer Female” while Mr Divyanshu Vijay from MBA 1st yr got prize for the “Best Dress Male” followed by the category for the Best Faculty Dress which was held by Ms. Surabhi Kalhan and Best Faculty Dress Male went to Mr Jai Bansal. An Indian festival and celebration is incomplete without a sparkling night. So, the Dandiya Raas event got a closure with the lightning of a lot of fireworks in the sky which mesmerized the crowd present there and filled everyone with the feeling of excitement with an indication of the beginning of Dussera & Deepawli celebrations.
